PPL to deliver 10,000 shipments of Textbooks for Ukraine

Nearly 220,000 items of teaching material will be available and can be ordered free of charge via the portal UcebniceProUkrajinu.cz by all interested schools and educational institutions, as well as individuals. Textbooks for primary and secondary schools, didactic materials for teachers, Czech textbooks for adults and an illustrated Czech-Ukrainian dictionary will be available.

Textbooks for Ukraine are funded by PPF Group to help with the education and integration of Ukrainian children into Czech schools. Thanks to the involvement of other partners, the project does not generate any implementation costs and all funds can be used to purchase educational materials. 
"At PPL, we have long supported children and young people, i.e. our future generation, in our charitable activities. Now there are also children in the Czech Republic who have been brought here by the current situation in Ukraine, and they are in no less need of support and a sense of security. That is why we did not even hesitate for a second and joined the Textbooks for Ukraine project, which gives children in particular the opportunity to learn Czech faster, integrate and better overcome this difficult period," said Petr Horák, PPL's CEO, about the specific reasons for the company's involvement. 

Horák adds that PPL also provides humanitarian aid in the form of van and truck transport, material aid for asylum centres, delivers cartons and packaging material to the distribution points of foundations, and has also launched the "Parcel for you for CZK 1" campaign so that volunteers can send aid where it is needed, with a special code POMAHAME via www.ppl.cz/en/we-help-in-ppl. "But we haven’t forgotten others who need help, and we continue to support education, sport, children and youth and are taking significant steps towards carbon neutrality, or emission-free operation," Horák emphasises. "Our employees play a significant role in all these activities, as they dedicate their time to volunteering despite their workload."  

All textbooks and dictionaries will be printed and distributed before the start of the 2022/2023 school year. Some of the materials are available immediately after ordering on the project website while others will be available gradually during the holidays.
