A modern sorting line with a total conveyor length of over half a kilometre will enable five-sided shipment reading, dynamic weighing and sorting. It can handle up to 15,000 parcels a day. Sixty vans will take care of deliveries and will deliver shipments to Brno, which is approximately 30 kilometres away, as well as to other places in Moravia.

The opening of the depot in Hustopeče brings around thirty new jobs to the local area and another hundred in related activities in transport and warehouses. In the context of strengthening the local logistics network, the development of the business throughout the region could then generate additional jobs. “We pride ourselves on quality and a human approach. The opening of the depot in Hustopeče will bring better and faster services to people in the South Moravian Region, and a modern and safe working environment for our employees,” says Petr Horák, CEO of PPL CZ s.r.o.

According to Horák, PPL CZ chose Contera Park Hustopeče for its South Moravian depot because of its unique location, which is significant not only for its proximity to Brno, but also for its connection to the transport networks in neighbouring countries. “With the opening of the depot in Hustopeče, we are significantly strengthening our transport network, especially to Slovakia, Austria and Hungary. Thanks to advanced sorting technology, we can handle even more shipments than before and thus increase the standard of services provided. We will thus be able to deliver packages even faster and more reliably than before,” says Horák, adding that the delivery of parcels to foreign e-shops, for example, will be considerably simplified.

“We are constantly trying to push the boundaries of the services we provide to our customers. The new depot in Hustopeče is a strategically important location for us and perfectly complements our existing transport network. It will not only allow us to increase the total capacity of shipments transported, but will also help us reduce handling and the number of kilometres travelled, and thus reduce our environmental footprint,” explains David Voznička, Chief Operating Officer of PPL CZ, adding that the new depot will strengthen PPL CZ’s unrivalled services.

“The logistics park in Hustopeče is another project in a series of parks we are building in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. Two weeks ago, for example, we inaugurated Contera Park D1 with a planned area of approximately 151,000 sqm in Ostrava - Hrušov. We started construction of Contera Park Hustopeče in August 2021 and next year we want to continue with the project’s second stage,” says Dušan Kastl, Executive Officer of Contera, the investor in Contera Park Hustopeče industrial park.

The depot’s construction underlines PPL’s sustainability path and features minimising the company’s environmental impact are incorporated in the design. The site’s total area is over 19,000 sqm, of which more than 3,000 sqm is the sorting hall itself.
