PPL opens a new depot in Příbram

The former depot was located at the address K Podlesí 540 and had capacity for only 10 vehicles. When it opened here in 2017, only 5 lines departed from it and about 800 parcels were cleared daily. It became insufficient over time due to the rising volume of parcels and limited number of lines, but also because of the high ramps for trucks only and uninsulated premises.

The construction of the new depot at the DORYS CZ, s.r.o. compound took one year and the premises fully meet the company’s needs. “We believe that not only the geographical location of the new depot, but also the more efficient operation processes in the course of the day will allow us to retain our leading position and improve service quality for our existing and future customers in this location,” explains Regional Operations Director for PPL CZ s.r.o. Martin Rejlek. At present, the average number of parcels cleared per day is 3,000, but the premises can process up to 4,500 consignments. “The new depot will offer modern and universally suitable premises for the expected growth of capacity in this locality. We plan to continue improving our network an increasing the number of depots in the future. The e-commerce market is growing by leaps and bounds and we are determined to be ready to offer the best services,” adds Petr Horák, General Manager of PPL CZ s.r.o.

On Monday, 5 October 2020, the opening ceremony of the depot took place and live operation started on the same day. Due to the coronavirus epidemic, only limited members of the PPL management were present. Ceremonial speeches were made by the General Manager Petr Horák and Depot Head Petr Menšík. There was also a thematic cake.
