We maintain a high level of service in the area of customs clearance of shipments. To ensure that we are capable of maintaining the quality of the service, and that your shipments can be cleared and delivered to the recipient as quickly as possible, accurate data on the contents of the goods in a shipment are essential.

Accurate commercial invoice data in electronic form will allow customs authorities to identify goods based on the data provided (e.g. HS Codes) and carry out customs/security checks without detaining your shipment. A clear data structure eliminates repeated queries about the contents of the shipment and unnecessary delays in the customs process.

In cooperation with our partner company DHL Express, which provides customs clearance of shipments, we have prepared a brief guide on how to best prepare the data for customs clearance.

The detailed description of the goods in the shipment should include:
•  Brief description of item as stated on the invoice (inclusion of HS codes xxxx.xx.xxxx will significantly assist subsequent customs clearance processes)
•   Number (number of identical products in a shipment)
•   Unit (piece, litre, ...)
•   Value of item(s) (by invoice amount)
•   Weight of item(s)
•   Country of origin

A more detailed description of how to fill in the goods description document can be found here.

A detailed description of goods can be sent in csv, txt and xml format.

Sample documents can be found here.

The detailed description of goods document does not replace the standard documents required to clear shipments (invoice and export disposition).
An accurate description of the goods supplements these documents.
